GENERAL SUMMARY As a key member of the Finance team for the Division, the Cost Accountant / Senior Level Accountant will report to the Controller for the Division and assume an operational and strategic role in reporting accuracy. The Cost Accountant will have primary day-to-day responsibility to ensure that Product Cost is accurate, Inventory is valued properly and Property Accounting accurately reflects the appropriate position on the Balance Sheet.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Product Costing Monitor Periodic Reporting to support accuracy in Financial Reporting. Verification of Changes in Price and Cost. Oversee compliance in areas related to Costing and Property Accounting. Manage the Property Accounting function. Other Periodic Job Functions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years financial accounting experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment. Experience related to Cost Accounting.

Personal/Technical Skills

General understanding and working knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures. Ability to work with and support the Plant controller in completion of their day-to-day activities. Strong attention to detail. General business knowledge. Effective people skills.

Language Skills:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English) used in the workplace.

Computer/Software:

Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet, etc.).

Systems implementation experience strongly preferred.

Working knowledge and “Hands On” experience with ERP Systems.
