DESCRIPTION:
As a Corporate Payroll Director at Tutor Perini Corp., reporting to Director of Payroll you will be responsible for the management, processing and distribution of payroll, payroll tax, and union reporting.
Manage the process of a multi-state in-house daily, weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for 37 companies in a centralized processing department to meet determined deadlines
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines
Maintain internal controls and compliance for payroll SOX internal and external audits
Oversee the set-up, submission, and reconciliation of periodic and quarterly tax deposits
Assist tax department in resolving discrepancies on periodic, quarterly, annual tax reports and amendments
Manage the set-up of union rates and benefits, submission, and reconciliation of union payments in a high volume, fast-paced environment
Work closely with IT in project implementations, testing, custom reporting, set-up of data elements and processes in Workday and JD Edwards (JDE)
Liaise with Human Resources, Field Payroll, IT, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Audit and Business Unit Finance personnel and local union representatives
Mentor and develop Staff
Identify and implement process improvement
REQUIREMENTS:
Highschool diploma or GED
15 years of payroll experience in a large multi-state/multi-FEIN organization
10 years of progressive management experience
10 years of construction union payroll experience
10 years of in-house payroll processing
Basic accounting experience
Proficient knowledge in labor and tax compliance related to payroll and union payroll
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in excel
Positive and professional demeanor, with a highly customer service focus
Experience with Workday or JDE preferred
