Company Overview
Our client is a premier North American industrial manufacturer specializing in high-precision alloy die casting. As a critical link in the domestic supply chain, the company supports essential missions across the automotive, aerospace, defense, and high-tech industrial sectors.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct all operational accounting functions including the general ledger, month-end close process, and financial reporting across 8 manufacturing sites.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, including the Director of Accounting, Sr. Accounting Manager, and Shared Services Director.
- Oversee a complex global consolidation of 20 entities, 3 business units, and 7 revenue verticals.
- Manage the "Procure to Pay," "Order to Cash," and global payroll cycles, optimizing our ADP Workforce Payroll.
- Direct the activities of our offshore team in the Philippines focused on AP, AR, and payroll journal entries to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Partner with the CFO to transition from a heavy accounting focus to high-level FP&A and strategic decision support.
- Ensure rigorous compliance for external audits and tax filings in partnership with EY and RSM for Advisory.
- Evaluate and potentially implement automated close solutions such as Oracle EPM, Alteryx, or Floqast to replace manual Excel processes.
- Manage the accounting for major capital projects, including fixed assets and accruals across all domestic and international plants.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions to ensure GAAP compliance across all subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with the Financial Systems Director to optimize NetSuite.
- Maintain and enhance the internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Support the preparation of quarterly Board of Directors decks and investor reporting packages.
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to drive EBITDA expansion.
Experience Needed
- 10-15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Private Equity (PE) Experience: Proven track record working within a PE-backed portfolio company.
- Complex Consolidations: Expert-level experience managing multi-entity, multi-site consolidations and legal entity restructuring.
- Technical Foundation: Deep expertise in GAAP, operational accounting, and external audit management (GT, Baker Tilly, Big 4, or similar).
- Systems Proficiency: Advanced experience with NetSuite, Oracle EPM, Sage Intacct, Anaplan, etc.
- Public Accounting Background: Candidates who began their career in a national public accounting firm are highly preferred.
- A desire and aptitude to be mentored into a future CFO role.
- Experience scaling a business through rapid organic growth or M&A integration.
