Responsibilities
The Corporate Accounting Department at Oaktree is seeking an accounting consultant with a focus on revenue accounting and reporting.
- Responsible for maintaining books and records of the Company’s management company and general partner entities
- Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations, including investment accounting, revenue accounting, incentive accounting, and other core general administrative expenses
- Manage the offshore team and review daily accounting activities to ensure the timely and accuracy of accounting records
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries by analyzing fund-level transactions and operational company activities
- Review general ledger detail and prepare comprehensive flux analysis to identify key variances
- Prepare detailed workpapers to support financial statement close and reporting process
- Prepare and provide support for the preparation of the Company’s internal and external filings, including preparing analyses, reviewing disclosures and providing feedback on suggested edits
- Assist in development and maintenance of consistent accounting policies
- Assist in reviewing existing processes for automation and improvement opportunities
- Maintain a strong internal control environment, including documenting internal control processes, and compliance with regulatory literature
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably 3 or more years public accounting;
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, operations, account analysis, and management reporting;
- Excellent understanding of business operations and linkage to accounting in order to initiate and support process improvements and documentation of standard operating procedures;
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems;
- Specific experience Workday system is a plus; and,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (and/or equivalent experience). CPA preferred.
