Controller (Non-Profit Organization)

Location: Central Dallas, TX

Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite

Compensation: Up to $90,000 annually, depending on experience

A well-established non-profit organization in Central Dallas is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial health of the organization. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a small office environment and enjoys working closely with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end close
• Oversee full cycle accounting processes and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain and optimize accounting systems, records, and internal controls
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management efforts
• Coordinate annual audit preparation and work with external auditors, tax professionals, and banking partners
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant reporting requirements, and applicable regulations
• Supervise accounting staff or administrative personnel as needed
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent QuickBooks experience required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with full cycle accounting responsibility required
• Prior Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance highly desired
• Non-profit accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work onsite in Central Dallas on a full-time basis
