POSITION: ControllerDEPARTMENT: FinanceREPORTS TO: General ManagerFLSA STATUS: ExemptSALARY: $150,000Summary of PositionLegends Global Hospitality, the leader in delivering premium experiences in sports, entertainment, attractions, conventions, and hospitality, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Controller at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with the corporate office and the financial community by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. Including, but not limited to, undertaking all aspects of financial management, cash handling, audit, tax accounting, budget and forecast preparation, internal controls, and financial risk management.Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage all accounting operations including payroll, billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, prepare and publish timely monthly/yearend financial statements. Ensure compliance with all Legends Global's policies and all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepares annual budget with the assistance of senior team members and update financial forecasting models monthly for review by Regional Director of Finance/Facility General Manager.
- Oversees the accounting manager in providing and assisting the procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services
- Analyzes studies of general economics, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations
- Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution and determines their financial impact
- Reviews procedures to ensure sound judgment and effective implementation.
- Reviews benefits and other payroll affected processes.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to write procedures and communications conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of financial analysis.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
