About the Role

A growing, multi-entity engineering services organization is seeking a Controller to step into a newly created, high-impact role following a business integration that significantly expanded revenue and operational complexity. This position is ideal for a technically strong CPA who is ready to move beyond pure accounting execution into a more visible, strategic role, partnering closely with finance leadership and influencing how financial performance is communicated across the business.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of core accounting operations, including the month-end close, financial reporting, and overall integrity of financial data.
• Work closely with a distributed team and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely reporting while identifying opportunities to improve processes and elevate the function.
• Translate complex project and financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to “tell the story” behind the numbers.

Qualifications

• CPA
• Prior public accounting and/or publicly traded company experience
• Strong foundation in GAAP and financial reporting
• Balance of technical expertise and communication ability
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, influence cross-functional partners, and grow into presenting financial insights to senior leadership.
• Experience with project-based or job cost accounting and large ERP systems is helpful but not required.

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 a year
