Location: Ocala, FL
Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually
Position Type: Direct Hire
About the Opportunity
Our great client is seeking a hands-on, highly capable Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations. This is a build and improve role,not simply maintaining existing systems.
The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting experience and the ability to create structure, implement systems, and develop processes from the ground up. This role requires a proactive leader who is comfortable working closely with ownership and plant leadership to build a scalable finance function.
Accounting & Financial Operations

Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management

Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and dashboards

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies

Lead audit, tax, and lender reporting processes
Systems & ERP Implementation

Evaluate current systems and recommend best-fit accounting/ERP/MRP solutions

Lead system selection, implementation, and optimization

Design scalable chart of accounts and reporting structures

Ensure systems support inventory, costing, production, and financial reporting

Establish controls for system usage, data integrity, and approvals
Process Development & Internal Controls

Build and document accounting policies and procedures

Establish internal controls across all financial processes

Standardize close processes, reconciliations, and reporting timelines

Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

Develop and maintain accurate product costing (materials, labor, overhead, scrap, variances)

Oversee inventory accounting, WIP, and finished goods valuation

Analyze manufacturing performance, including efficiency, yield, and margins

Partner with operations and leadership to improve profitability and cost controls

Support pricing decisions with detailed cost and margin analysis
Planning & Business Partnership

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

Develop KPIs and financial dashboards

Provide insights on capital investments, process improvements, and growth strategies
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
-
7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including manufacturing
-
3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar leadership role
-
Strong expertise in cost accounting (inventory, BOMs, WIP, standard costing, variance analysis)

Proven experience implementing or upgrading accounting/ERP systems
