Position Synopsis

Our PE backed Construction services client is looking for a fully remote accounting consultant. This critical role will provide high-level support to the finance department during a key leadership transition and will report directly to the CFO. This casual and collaborative work environment will enable you to be work in an environment you see the best for you, preferably your home office. As a construction services specialist you will supporting a company that operates with a high volume of projects, requiring a leader who is comfortable navigating complex project accounting and maintaining consistent communication with project managers

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the Management alongside Controller and CFO day-to-day operations for Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and project accounting.
• Actively participate in defining best practices for billing, maintaining a "pitch-in" attitude alongside the CFO and Controller.
• Oversee Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting for various construction projects.
• Generate and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) reports to track project financial health.
• Coordinate financial oversight for 300 open projects.
• Maintain consistent and proactive communication with Project Managers regarding budget and spend.
• Monitor financial metrics for a high volume of residential insurance work and public works projects.
• Ensure organized and professional billing processes for sophisticated General Contractors.
• The project accounting team has an oversight of 2,500 active projects over the course of the fiscal year.
• Partner with HR to ensure seamless integration between accounting and payroll functions.
• Utilize Sage Intacct for core financial management and reporting.
• Manage complex payment and billing our customer base requires, ensuring accurate billing based on project maturity and contract milestones.
• Work with Service Now for integrated project management and field data tracking.
• Assist with documentation and preparations for external auditors

Required Experience

• Strong background in Construction Accounting, specifically with Percentage of Completion (POC)
• Experience managing Work in Progress (WIP) reporting and Pay Applications
• Proven ability to manage A/R and A/P functions within a high-volume project environment

• Proficiency with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or other cloud based tools
