ARI CONTROLLER
The Controller will play a critical leadership role within a large, multi-property management organization, overseeing all aspects of accounts payable and property-level accounting operations. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering closely with operations teams to drive effective financial solutions and support business objectives across the portfolio.
This position reports to The Carroll Companies’ Corporate Controller
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Oversight
- Lead and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio ofmulti-familyproperties, including general ledger, month-endclose, and financial reporting.
- Oversee and optimize the accounts payable function to ensuretimelyandaccurateprocessing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense allocations.
- Reviewconsolidatedand property-level financial statementsand variance analysis.
- Assistwith year-end close process and preparation for annual tax and financial reporting
Property Accounting Management
- Supervise property accountants, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies across all properties.
- Maintain strong internal controls over property financial processes.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Establish clear goalsandaccountabilityfor team members.
- Collaborate cross-functionallyto promote alignment and efficiency across departments.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows, automation, and reporting capabilities.
Business Partnering & Operations Support
- Act as a strategic partner to operations leadership,providingactionableinsights to support decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5years’accounting experienceincluding managerial
- Intermediate MS Excel skills andexperience withaccounting business systems
- CPA preferred
