Overview
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a rapidly growing government contractor that is seeking a Controller or Accounting Manager to join its Dallas-based team. This is a highly visible, hands-on role supporting day-to-day accounting operations while also helping guide an upcoming ERP transition from QuickBooks to Deltek Costpoint.
This position is ideal for a GovCon accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working onsite with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Manage and improve accounting processes in a government contracting environment
- Ensure compliance with GovCon regulations (including FAR, CAS, DCAA readiness)
- Support audits and interface with external auditors and advisors
- Lead or support implementation of Costpoint (transitioning from QuickBooks)
- Assist with financial analysis, budgeting, and internal reporting
- Partner with leadership to drive operational and financial improvements
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- 6+ years of accounting experience; GovCon experience strongly preferred
- Experience at either:
- Accounting Manager level, or
- Controller / Assistant Controller level
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks required
- Transition experience with Deltek Costpoint strongly preferred
