Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting with compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting requirements. This role assists with ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all HMDA reportable loan applications. Maintains quality service standards set by the organization.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of experience working in mortgage operations or compliance.
- Knowledge of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
- Knowledge of residential lending practices, compliance and documentation.
- Ability to understand and interpret regulatory compliance requirements.
- Well-organized, efficient, and able to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate and complete work.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work with all levels of management and credit union staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews residential loan applications to ensure HMDA reportable applications have been identified.
- Conducts validation reviews of originated and non-originated applications to determine proper action and reporting.
- Compares LAR data fields to source documents to ensure compliance with HMDA requirements.
- Identifies, tracks, and corrects data discrepancies.
- Ensures the integrity and completeness of all LAR data fields.
- Participate in AML/BSA compliance training as assigned. Adhere to credit union AML/BSA policy and procedures including CTR rules and form preparation, identify and review suspicious activity, perform OFAC comparisons, and properly identify individuals in accordance with AML/BSA regulations.
