What You'll Be Doing
The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Credit Analyst II provides analytical support for the underwriting, monitoring, and administration of commercial real estate lending relationships. The role is responsible for analyzing borrower and guarantor financial information, preparing credit approval memoranda, performing cash flow and collateral analysis, and supporting ongoing portfolio monitoring activities. Working closely with Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Officers, the CRE Credit Analyst II contributes to sound credit decisioning while developing expertise in commercial real estate lending, portfolio management, and risk assessment. The position supports the maintenance of strong credit quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to the Bank's credit standards.
What We're Looking For
- Analyze borrower, guarantor, and sponsor financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls, and operating statements to support underwriting and portfolio monitoring activities.
- Prepare financial spreads, global cash flow analyses, liquidity assessments, debt service coverage calculations, and other underwriting metrics for new and existing credit relationships.
- Assist in the preparation of credit approval memoranda, annual reviews, renewals, modifications, and other credit-related presentations.
- Analyze commercial real estate collateral, including property operating performance, leasing activity, occupancy levels, market conditions, and appraisal information.
- Support ongoing portfolio monitoring through financial statement reviews, covenant testing, exception tracking, and risk rating recommendations.
- Gather, organize, and evaluate borrower due diligence materials required for underwriting, loan approval, and periodic credit reviews.
- Monitor reporting requirements and assist in obtaining updated financial information to ensure timely portfolio reviews and compliance with loan agreements.
- Research industry, market, and economic trends that may impact borrower performance, collateral values, or portfolio risk.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, and other internal partners to support credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management activities.
- Assist with portfolio reporting, special projects, and other credit administration duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Knowledge of commercial real estate lending, financial statement analysis, and credit underwriting principles.
- Ability to analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, global cash flow, and commercial real estate collateral.
- Understanding of commercial real estate loan structures, credit risk concepts, and underwriting standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly summarize financial and credit information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
- Understanding of applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, real estate or another business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum Required: 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate lending, commercial credit analysis, banking or related financial services role.
Licenses & Credentials
- Minimum Required: None.
Systems & Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with financial spreading software and commercial lending systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of commercial real estate research platforms such as CoStar, REIS, or similar tools preferred.
