Client Accounting Services Senior Associate

Ketel Thorstenson, LLP (KT) is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join our Client Accounting Services team in our Casper, WY office location.

In this role, you will support client engagements by performing and reviewing accounting work, managing deadlines, and providing client service. You will also mentor staff and serve as a key contributor to team success within a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation 
• Perform month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations 
• Prepare financial reports, payroll processing, and related compliance filings (e.g., sales tax) 
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies 
• Review and proof work completed by staff, ensuring accuracy and completeness 
• Assist with client accounting needs and serve as a point of contact for routine client inquiries 
• Represent clients in audits and assist with compliance-related matters 
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor 
• Mentor and support the development of staff through training and guidance 
• Stay current on accounting principles, software, and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a client service or public accounting environment
• Experience preparing and reviewing accounting work, including general ledger and financial reporting
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office, including Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with multiple clients or across industries 
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff 
• Experience with payroll processing and sales tax reporting 
• Strong communication and client service skills 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Additional Information

Work Schedule & Location:

• Full-time position
• Standard schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
• Additional hours may be required during peak periods
• Based in our Casper, WY office location.
