Description

Chief Financial Officer

Build the finance organization for Scaling.com’s path from $15M to $120M

Location: Utah | Reports to: Chief Executive Officer | Company: Scaling.com

The Opportunity

Scaling.com is approximately 15 months old and operates at roughly $15 million in annual revenue. We are looking to build a finance team that scales from where we currently are to $120 million annually.

We are seeking a hands-on, builder-oriented Chief Financial Officer who can operate at our current stage while designing the people, systems, controls, reporting, and capital relationships required for the next several stages of scale. This person will work directly with the CEO and partners and will become a trusted financial thought partner, not simply the executive who reports historical numbers.

The Mission

Build and lead the financial organization Scaling.com needs to scale from $15 million to $120 million while protecting cash, creating reliable reporting and controls, establishing continuous access to responsible capital, and serving as the CEO’s trusted and candid financial right hand.

Core Mandates

Strategic Finance and CEO Partnership

Accounting and Controls

Cash, Treasury and Capital Access

Legal Operations and Finance-Team Development

First 90-Day Priorities

The Ideal Candidate

Requirements

The Personal Profile

The right leader is low ego and high ownership; calm, direct, discreet, and fast without being careless. They are comfortable acting with incomplete information while making assumptions explicit. They can move between a detailed reconciliation, a major wire, a lender negotiation, a three-year model, and a candid conversation with the CEO. They bring bad news early, disagree respectfully, and reduce rather than increase the CEO’s cognitive load.

Scope Clarity

Events, general operations-team management, and day-to-day HR administration are outside the permanent scope of this CFO role. Fund accounting or investor reporting for Scaling Capital would require a separately defined mandate and appropriate resources.

Why Scaling.com

This is an opportunity to work directly with the CEO and partners, build the company’s banking and capital-access strategy, and design the finance organization for a business intentionally scaling from approximately $15 million to $120 million. The CFO will have real authority to build, not merely maintain, the function.

Benefits

Compensation

Target base salary: $200,000$240,000, plus a 20%–30% target annual incentive and meaningful long-term value-creation upside. The final package will reflect the candidate’s experience and the scope of the role.

Scaling.com is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
