Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
A growing construction and project-based organization is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This individual will oversee all financial operations while partnering closely with ownership and operational leaders to support profitability, growth, and long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Lead all accounting, finance, and reporting functions
- Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition, job costing, and project financial reporting
- Manage audits, tax compliance, and financial controls
Cash Flow & Banking
- Direct cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
- Monitor working capital, receivables, and payables
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing activities
- Support overall financial stability and capital planning
Operations & Project Oversight
- Partner with operations teams to review project performance and profitability
- Analyze project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete estimates
- Identify financial risks and develop proactive solutions
- Participate in leadership reviews and strategic decision-making
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with ownership on growth initiatives and business planning
- Evaluate investment opportunities and operational improvements
- Develop key performance metrics and executive reporting tools
- Support organizational scalability and process improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Strong background in construction, project-based, or real estate-related industries
- Experience with project accounting, WIP schedules, and job costing
- Proven ability to manage lender, banking, and external stakeholder relationships
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Preferred Background
- Construction management or general contracting experience
- Experience overseeing large project portfolios and complex operations
- Knowledge of construction ERP systems and project management software
