Job Summary: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) directs all financial operations, leads the accounting department, and ensures long-term fiscal stability. This executive role oversees reporting, audits, and tax compliance while driving profitability through strategic capital allocation and retail margin analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Planning: Partner with the owner to design and execute long-term financial plans that ensure corporate growth and fiscal stability.
- Profitability & Pricing Analysis: Evaluate gross margins by SKU and major retail accounts to shape commercial and pricing strategies.
- Capital Allocation & ROI: Assess CapEx ROI for new high-efficiency presses and automation to optimize Return on Assets (ROA).
- Cash & Working Capital Management: Manage operating cash flow and the cash conversion cycle to maintain strong liquidity.
- Reporting, Compliance & Advisory: Oversee timely monthly financial statements, audits, and tax filings while advising leadership on data-driven business decisions.
- Team Leadership & Close Management: Direct, mentor, and align the accounting team with corporate objectives, ensuring an efficient and timely month-end close.
- Precision Cost Accounting: Maintain and update the plant’s manufacturing cost models, directly managing resin costing (cost per pound and variances), press capacity costing (rates for 250-ton through 1,500-ton presses), and operational allocations (cycle times, labor, and overhead).
- Inventory & Plant Controls: Oversee inventory accuracy, monitor scrap rates, audit freight costs, and measure overall inventory turns.
- Operations Partnership: Collaborate with plant operations to monitor bottom-line production floor KPIs, including OEE, machine utilization, and on-time delivery.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration required. MBA preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- Eight to ten years of progressive financial management experience including time in a senior leadership role.
- Strong background in manufacturing environments with exceptional GAAP and technical financial reporting skills.
- Advanced skills in manufacturing ERP/accounting software, Microsoft Excel and standard office applications.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to routinely move around the facility, including accessing various corporate departments, the manufacturing plant floor and off-site warehouses.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to report to the brick-and-mortar office daily.
- Must be able to offer flexibility in schedule to support business need.
Edge Plastics provides a competitive compensation package including:
- Starting annual salary $130,000-$145,000 (based on experience and education)
