What You’ll Do:
- Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team.
- Lead the development of the Our Just Future’s annual budget and ensure the ongoing availability of accurate, timely budget-minded information and reports; analyze and/or produce property-based budgets for agency assets; assist department managers and supervisors with budgetary issues.
- Analyze, report on, and assess the agency’s financial condition and trends to ensure sustainable and compliant operations. Coordinate closely across the agency’s Groups and Teams to manage key fiscal, compliance, and risk management issues confronting the agency.
- Ensure that the OJF Finance Team produces informative and necessary accounting reports and materials on a timely and complaint-to-day basis; review and analyze output to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Confirm that the agency payroll activities are completed accurately on a timely basis, including the payment of all payroll taxes; ensure that all receipts and accounts receivable are recorded accurately and that the disbursements and accounts payable are correct. Ensure that all funds are deposited and recorded accurately on a timely basis.
- Manage the accurate and timely operation of the fiscal systems for Our Just Future; ensure that the fiscal operations of all properties are accurate and timely; provide fiscal management and oversight as needed.
- Ensure that the agency follows all fiscal requirements and local, state, and federal laws; policies and procedures in the Fiscal Manual are followed; update the Manual as needed.
- Coordinate audit and tax activities and report for Our Just Future and its subsidiary entities and properties.
- Provide support and training to Our Just Future’s Board of Directors to support their role of fiduciary oversight; staff and support the Board’s Finance Committee.
- Responsible for cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Staff and lead the Board’s Finance Committee
- Develop enterprise-wide annual budget and monitor conformance.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration required; CPA/CMA/MBA is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of nonprofit financial experience, with a progressive career trajectory.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex budgeting, monitoring, and financial compliance.
- Highly professional, articulate self-starter, with ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possess high level of integrity and discretion, regarding proprietary information and confidential matters.
- A working understanding of racial equity and racial justice work and how to apply an equity lens in the development of policies, practices, and compensation plans.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with internal and external teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
