Overview:

WiredPeople seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to support the financial management of multiple projects. The CPA will play a critical role in cash flow analysis, identifying budget shortfalls, and providing accurate short-term and long-term financial projections. This position will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and optimize resource allocation. WiredPeople's vision for the CPA role is to operate in a hybrid structure, with more time operating remote, but consistent onsite collaboration with supporting teams in Tallahassee, Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive cash flow analyses to support day-to-day financial operations and strategic planning.

  • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances, identifying potential shortfalls and recommending corrective measures.

  • Develop detailed short-term and long-term financial forecasts to assist in decision-making and resource planning.

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop, adjust, and monitor budgetary needs and funding requests.

  • Prepare and present financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Evaluate and strengthen internal financial controls, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Advise on financial risk management and opportunities to enhance financial stability.

  • Provide support during audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards.

Qualifications:

  • Active CPA license required.

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master‚Äôs degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public sector accounting, preferably within large government agencies.

  • Proven experience in budget management, cash flow analysis, and financial forecasting.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, GASB, and public sector financial regulations; familiarity with State of Florida accounting systems is preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with large budgets in a healthcare or public health setting.

  • Familiarity with state and federal funding mechanisms and grant management.

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
