Position Summary
The Strategic Buyer is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities, ensuring supply continuity, optimizing costs, and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. This role combines commercial execution with strong analytical capabilities, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making, enhance supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement across procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
Data, Reporting & Analytics
- Generate, analyze, and interpret procurement data to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports to track spend, savings, and supplier performance
- Gather and structure data for RFQs, benchmarking, and market analysis
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of procurement master data, including supplier price files and vendor records
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through spend and market analysis
- Standardize reporting templates and improve data management practices
- Drive data-led process improvements and automation initiatives
Strategic Sourcing
- Lead supplier negotiations including pricing, payment terms, and minimum order quantities (MOQs) for assigned categories
- Support and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFx processes and supplier selection
- Support product costing, including formula and component cost analysis
- Conduct market intelligence and supplier benchmarking to inform sourcing strategies
Compliance & Process Governance
- Ensure procurement activities comply with contractual agreements and preferred supplier strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor master data
- Support audit readiness and compliance reporting requirements
