Summary

The Business Intelligence & Financial Analyst provides financial analysis, business intelligence, management reporting, and decision-support tools for a complex, multi-site operating business.

The role connects operating activity to financial performance by helping managers and leaders understand margin, cost, working capital, inventory, throughput, and other business drivers. The analyst will build tools and analysis that improve visibility, support better decisions, and help identify opportunities to improve business performance.

The role reports to the Strategic Research and Development Director and works closely with the Vice President. While the position is part of Finance, its work supports managers and leaders across the business.

This role is focused on internal management reporting, financial analysis, business intelligence, and decision support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1.Business Understanding and Site Engagement

Develop a practical understanding of the company’s operating model, financial systems, material flows, and performance drivers. Spend time at operating sites to understand how the business works and how decisions are made. Work directly with managers and internal users to understand reporting needs, decision points, and opportunities for better analysis. Build credibility by connecting analysis to operating reality. Use the Florida Avenue site as an initial focus for learning the business and developing practical tools that may later be adapted more broadly.

Design, produce, and improve management reports, dashboards, and analytical tools for managers and leaders. Build reporting that presents financial and operational information clearly and consistently. Develop tools that help users understand performance, identify trends, and focus attention on key issues and opportunities. Translate complex data into clear management views and practical business narratives. Create repeatable reporting processes that can be improved and scaled over time.

Develop models that support business decisions involving performance, cost, margin, investment, operating activity, and business improvement opportunities. Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis to support decisions under changing business, operating, or market conditions. Analyze the relationship between operational activity and financial results. Support the Vice President of Finance with recurring and ad hoc financial analysis. Support business improvement and strategic initiatives through structured analysis and model development.

Integrate information from multiple systems and sources to create clearer views of business performance. Develop repeatable workflows for extracting, cleaning, structuring, and presenting data. Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or limitations that affect analysis and reporting. Work with internal users to improve how data is understood and used in decision-making. Build analytical tools that are practical for management use and maintainable over time.

Use analysis to identify issues, opportunities, trends, anomalies, and performance gaps. Prepare clear summaries, presentations, and decision-support materials for management review. Help managers and leaders understand the financial implications of business and operating decisions. Support follow-up analysis to understand root causes, evaluate options, and inform action. Contribute to stronger internal decision support capability across the business.

Develop financial models and analysis that support business decisions involving margin, cost, inventory, working capital, capital investment, operating performance, and business improvement opportunities. Analyze the financial impact of operating activity, including material flows, processing decisions, throughput, inventory levels, pricing, logistics, and cost structure. Build tools that help managers and leaders understand how operational decisions affect financial results. Support scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis for business decisions under changing market, operating, or financial conditions. Help translate financial data into practical management insight, including trends, variances, risks, opportunities, and follow-up questions. Support the Vice President of Finance with analysis that improves internal visibility and strengthens decision-making across the business.
