Business | Information Technology Internship: tool development for IT procurement

Introduction

The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department at ASML works closely with suppliers to support reliable delivery to customers worldwide. Within this department, the IT Procurement team enables large and complex IT sourcing decisions across the company. You will contribute to improving how procurement teams plan and manage strategic supplier deals. Your work will help increase visibility, collaboration, and timely decision-making. This internship offers hands-on experience in a global, technology-driven environment.

Your assignment 

Within IT Procurement, the team manages a multi-year overview of upcoming contract renewals and sourcing initiatives. Today, this overview relies on spreadsheets, which limits transparency and automation. During this internship you will explore how a more structured and user-friendly solution can support daily work. Your assignment focuses on delivering practical improvements that enable better planning and follow-up. Your main responsibilities will be:

• Analyze the current deal pipeline process and identify improvement opportunities.

• Design a structured solution to manage upcoming contract milestones and renewals.

• Develop automated notifications for key dates and decision moments.

• Create clear planning and scheduling support for supplier meetings and negotiations.

• Set up a structured way to document negotiation strategies and assumptions.

• Explore links between deal pipeline data and supplier or commercial performance.

This is a bachelor/master non-thesis internship for 6 months, minimum 4 days per week (2 days on-site).
The start date of this internship is as of September 2026.

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

• Are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.

• Study business administration, information technology, data science, or a related field.

• Have practical tooling experience with data analysis and spreadsheet-based reporting.

• Are analytical, structured, and comfortable working with complex information.

• Communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.

• You have a proactive mindset and affinity with procurement.

Other requirements you need to meet:

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;

• You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.

• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
