Role Description
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative functions while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records maintained in QuickBooks. This position manages accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, contract administration, job costing, financial reporting, tax reporting, licensing, and bookkeeping support while maintaining accurate records and providing reports to management. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Three to five years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Ability to process invoices, payments, deposits, and bank reconciliations
- Experience preparing financial reports and journal entries
- Knowledge of sales tax reporting and compliance
- Ability to maintain contract files, insurance documentation, lien waivers, warranties, and close-out documents
- Experience with job costing and budget tracking preferred
- Ability to prepare documentation for outside accountants and annual tax filings
- Experience preparing borrowing base certificates and financial statements preferred
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with vendors, suppliers, customers, and coworkers
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information
