Position Summary
The Part-Time Nonprofit Bookkeeper supports the financial operations of Seamark Ranch by maintaining accurate accounting records and assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping functions. This position is responsible for processing financial transactions, performing account reconciliations, maintaining fund accounting records, and supporting financial reporting and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks Online experience, nonprofit bookkeeping experience, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. This role helps ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources in support of Seamark Ranch's Christ-centered mission.
Essential Functions
- Enter and maintain accurate financial transactions and journal entries in QuickBooks Online.
- Record and reconcile bank deposits.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile company credit card accounts, including Ramp transactions.
- Process accounts payable and enter vendor invoices.
- Assist with BILL.com payment processing and vendor management.
- Maintain accounts receivable records.
- Record payments received and maintain accurate customer balances.
- Assist with payroll-related entries and reconciliations.
- Track restricted and unrestricted funds and maintain accurate fund accounting records.
- Prepare budget-to-actual reports and other financial reports for budget holders.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and auditor requests.
- Maintain organized electronic financial records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supports campus-wide events and ministry activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Bookkeeping, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of QuickBooks Online experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of nonprofit bookkeeping or nonprofit accounting experience.
- Experience with nonprofit fund accounting, including restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting systems.
- Strong technology skills and the ability to learn new software platforms quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience with BILL.com.
- Experience with Ramp or similar expense management software.
- Experience supporting annual financial audits.
- QuickBooks Online Certification.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively through phone, video conferencing, and email.
- Ability to occasionally travel to Seamark Ranch for meetings or training, if requested.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Remote position.
- Part-time schedule of approximately 10-15 hours per week.
- Flexible schedule during normal business hours.
- Additional hours may occasionally be required during month-end close, audit preparation, or special projects.
