JOB TITLE: Inpatient Rehab Facility Bookkeeper
REPORTS TO: CFO

JOB OVERVIEW: At an inpatient rehab facility, a bookkeeper manages the facility's daily financial health while ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA. Their role is critical because they must navigate complex revenue cycles involving insurance reimbursements, government payments (Medicare/Medicaid), and patient responsibility. The Inpatient Rehab Facility Bookkeeper is responsible for the daily recording of financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring that all patient-related billing is accurately reflected in the general ledger. This role serves as a bridge between the administrative staff and the clinical teams to maintain the facility's financial stability.

Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Cycle Support: Track patient co-pays, deductibles, and insurance reimbursements. Coordinate with billing teams to reconcile actual payments received against billed claims.
- General Ledger Management: Record daily transactions including vendor invoices, facility expenses, and medical supply costs.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage payments to suppliers (e.g., medical equipment, utilities) and follow up on outstanding patient or insurance balances.
- Payroll Processing: Calculate and process wages for medical and administrative staff, ensuring compliance with tax laws and shift differential requirements.(Paychex)
- Compliance & Security: Maintain absolute confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines when handling financial documents.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports for facility management and the Chief Financial Officer.
