About the role
DMCL is seeking a Bookkeeper with experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to join our expanding Private Enterprise team.
The Bookkeeper role supports DMCL’s Private Enterprise practice, focusing on providing accurate, technology-driven accounting solutions to small and medium-sized business clients. The role involves maintaining client financial records through QBO and supporting tools such as Hubdoc, Plooto, and PaymentEvolution, with the goal of improving client efficiency, accuracy, and financial insight.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of clients and industries and is ideal for someone interested in growing their technical accounting expertise.
How you’ll make a difference
- Deliver clear and timely reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports to help clients track performance and guide business strategy.
- Maintain compliance and reduce risk. Accurately manage GST and PST filings to help clients meet tax obligations efficiently and avoid errors or penalties.
- Support smooth client transitions. Onboard new clients into QBO, ensuring proper data setup and conversion for long-term success.
- Enhance accuracy and workflow efficiency. Keep client records organized and up to date to ensure precise reporting and smooth operations.
Who you are
You enjoy bookkeeping and accounting and like working with different clients and projects. You want to be part of a team where you can learn from managers, partners and coworkers, help clients using QuickBooks Online.
While CPA pursuit is not required for this role, we welcome candidates who may wish to pursue the designation down the road. The Private Enterprise team follows a unique development model that differs from our traditional CPA training stream, offering a strong hands-on learning experience focused on technology and client service.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, cloud accounting, or bookkeeping.
- Comfortable using QuickBooks Online; experience with Xero or Sage 50 is a plus.
- A good communicator who can explain things clearly and work well with clients.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on solving problems and improving processes.
- A team player who shares updates, helps others, and enjoys collaborating.
- Open to learning new things, taking feedback, and growing your skills.
