Contract Bookkeeper -- Calgary, AB

Immediate Start | Contract Assignment

$25-$28/hr commensurate with experience

A Calgary-based non-profit organisation is looking for a Contract Bookkeeper to step into a focused, time-sensitive assignment. This is a hands-on role for an experienced full charge Bookkeeper

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile membership and program fee revenue and ensure accurate, timely entry into Sage
• Maintain the books through to the notice-to-reader stage, ensuring a clean handoff to the organisation's external accounting firm
• Support preparation for an upcoming GST filing
• Liaise with the organisation's external auditor and prepare supporting documentation (e.g., trial balances) for an audit currently underway
• Provide general bookkeeping support and help bring consistency to existing processes

Schedule

• Immediate start (as soon as possible)
• Full-time ideal for the first week
• Approximately 3 days per week through mid-July with potential to extend

What You'll Need

• Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally including non-profit/NPO accounting (fund accounting, deferred revenue, GST rebate treatment)
• Strong working knowledge of Sage
• Comfortable working independently and picking up an existing set of books with minimal handover
• Available to start immediately
