Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeping professional who enjoys working in a hands-on, close-knit office environment? Our client, a locally owned business in New Minas is seeking a full-time, permanent Bookkeeper to join their team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations and play a key part in keeping records accurate, organized, and up to date. This position is ideal for someone who brings practical, real-world experience—particularly in trade, service, or operational settings.
Key Responsibilities for the Job
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping (AP, AR, payroll)
- Manage government remittances, including payroll and HST
- Handle month-end accounting and support financial reporting
- Track and code repairs and maintenance expenses
- Prepare year-end financials for submission to external accountants
Experience & Attributes for Success
- 5+ years of proven, full cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally within a trades, services, or operational-based setting
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is strongly preferred
- Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of establishing new systems
- Excellent attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
