POSITION: Bookkeeper, part-time, reporting to [ANC Assistant Treasurer – for now].
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Banking:
- Prepare and process bank deposits for our Gifts, Accounts Receivable, and Miscellaneous Cash Receipts modules.
- Reconcile Petty Cash and prepare refill requests.
Accounts Receivable:
- Monitor all Accounts Receivable accounts to ensure accounts remain in good standing, and follow-up for identified issues. Includes:
- Generate quarterly AR reports for management.
- Generate & mail account statements at appropriate intervals.
- Communicate with debtors about unpaid balances past due date, and provide customer service to resolve their questions.
Accounts Payable:
- Support in-house check printing and mailing/delivery for any payments that must be issued by paper check.
- Review Corporate Credit Card expense reports for completeness (receipts, expense accounts provided) and appropriate approvals. Coordinate with cardholder for missing information.
- Provide “Gatekeeper” function for AvidXchange invoices to route them into appropriate workflow.
- Add 1099 coding to ANC AP processed through AvidXchange.
- Work on the uncashed check list, to resolve stale outstanding payments.
Monthly Close Accounting:
- Review Accounts Payable transactions to prepare Use Tax Report
- Gather sales reports from POS systems, prepare sales tax filing report, and file sales & use tax return.
- Assist with routine Balance Sheet reconciliations.
General Office Support:
- Greet visitors, provide customer service support and receive deliveries
- Filing
- Assist with research and documentation (e.g. pulling support for intercompany billing questions and annual audit fieldwork).

Education/Experience:
- 2+ years of accounting work experience, OR
- 12+ credits of college-level accounting coursework.
