Billing Specialist

Renaissance Behavioral Health is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medicaid & Commercial Insurance Billing Specialist to join our growing team. This role is essential to ensuring the financial health of our organization while supporting our mission to provide high-quality behavioral health services.

Position Overview

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for helping to manage the full cycle of insurance billing, including Medicaid and commercial payers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AdvancedMD, Availity, and the Provider Network Management system, along with a strong background in provider credentialing and claim denial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit, track, and manage claims for Medicaid and commercial insurance payers
• Utilize AdvancedMD (EHR) for billing and account management
• Work within Availity and Medicaid provider portals for claim submission and follow-up
• Perform insurance verification and ensure accurate patient billing information
• Manage claim denials, rejections, and appeals to maximize reimbursement
• Manage provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes
• Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in behavioral health or medical billing
• Proven experience with:
  • AdvancedMD
  • Availity
  • PNM
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance billing practices
• Experience with denial management and appeals
• Familiarity with provider credentialing processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
