We also offer unique services like our nuclear stress testing facility.  We have served the Towson, Pikesville, and Reisterstown communities of Baltimore County for more than 50 years.

We are seeking to add an experienced Billing Specialist to our  billing team in Towson! Our ideal candidate must be well rounded in all aspects of charge entry, clean claim submission, and billing and coding.  Willingness to be a team player and go above and beyond to ensure compliance and productivity metrics are met is a must!

The Billing Specialist supports and promotes the overall philosophy of the company by setting a consistent example of exceptional patient service in the accurate and efficient processing of all charges and other related billing functions. 

Shift: Monday - Friday  / 8am-4pm  or  9am-5pm

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Tracks and screens fee tickets to ensure accuracy of patient demographics, referring physician information, and coding.  
• Enters charges and applies copayments.
• Researches, answers and resolves billing discrepancies or requests for  additional billing information.
• Creates encounters and enters charges from the Pathology & Interrogation spreadsheet.
• Creates encounters and enters charges for additional services such as Home Health, Retina Vue exams, hospital visit forms and insurance company health assessments.
• Monitoring and resolving issues related to eligibility and coordination of benefits.
• Claims follow up - which includes contacting patients to discuss outstanding balances.
• Insurance follow up - which includes contacting providers' offices and insurance companies directly.
• Daily monitoring and completing the billing task worklog.
• Tracking and resolving unbilled encounters.
• Scanning fee tickets and other related billing documentation.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1year related medical office experience,  medical claims, or medical data entry experience required.
• Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new applications. 
• EMR experience preferred - Nextgen is a plus!
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical insurance procedures and policies. 
• Basic arithmetic and money calculating skills. 
• Excellent oral and written  communication skills with the ability to  speak, spell read and write Standard English clearly and concisely.
• Ability to interact effectively with culturally diverse employees and external customer population. 
• Ability to convey a positive attitude and project a professional image. 
• Ability to remain flexible. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
• Requires long periods of sitting and intermittent standing. Must be able to lift approximately 10 1bs.
