Billing Specialist

Job Overview:

The Billing Specialist is responsible for providing support to the sales team and collection specialist on all relevant financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner. This person will also assist with office duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare billing and maintain project folders.

• Review, print, and mail invoices/billing packets and conditional releases in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the accounting department during month-end to make sure that the costs and billings are accurate for each project.
• Work with other departments to resolve discrepancies by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps.
• Ensure job cost reports are accurate, forecast additional costs, and correct or adjust when necessary.
• Liaison between customers and sales teams.
• Process credits with proper authorizations.
• Assist collections team with short-paid and/or past due invoices.
• Assist the AR department with allocating payments.

Requirements:

• AA degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
• Data entry skills, analyzing information, quality focus, and productivity.
• Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong time management skills, finance, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Thorough, detail-oriented, and strong organizational skills.

• Analyzing information, accounting vendor relationships, data entry skills, and general math skills

• Proficient using MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
