GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
The SMT analyst plays an integral role in supporting key accounts with pricing responsibility and multi-trade bid coordination. Analyst must be able to respond to new account requests in a timely basis in order to meet critical deadlines as required by our customers and potential customers. Monitor contract performance and support the sales team with account management for key regional accounts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Coordinates bids involving multiple trade regions, including working with sales and customers to determine that bids meet internal qualifications.
- Quote rates for assigned key accounts from Transpacific Eastbound origins (Asia) to USA and Canada.
- Creation and distribution of daily/weekly/monthly reports.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance for accounts as required.
- Update promotional materials.
- Maintain contracts to ensure compliance with FMC requirements and company standards.
- Familiarize and execute company and customer contracting requirements when bidding.
- Maintain department and company standards for turn time for all work assignments.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments to complete tasks.
- Assist and act as backup for all other marketing and sales activities, including event preparation and planning, and supporting sales staff with inquiries.
- Support department tasks of distributing industry news and market analysis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Excel including the use of formulas, vlookup, pivot tables, and conditional formatting.
- Proficient in other MS Office including Outlook, Word and Power Point.
- Ocean freight or supply chain industry experience highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects at a time within given timeline.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills as position works with management, sales, and customers.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to self-motivate with little supervision.
- Team player and willing to adapt to new tasks and projects.
- Excellent computer literacy is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, supply chain management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Requires 3 years’ related experience, preferably within shipping/logistics
ENVIRONMENT / EQUIPMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderate. Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk around the office. Frequently required to work on a computer. Occasionally required to use force to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.

Additional Details:
The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions. HMM employee benefits include highly subsidized individual and family insurance coverage (medical, dental and vision), term life and disability insurance, 401(k) employer matching contributions, paid holidays, and up to 10 vacation days and six sick days in the first year.
