We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Automotive Payroll Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for dealership employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company payroll regulations. The ideal candidate has dealership payroll experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Calculate commissions, bonuses, flat-rate technician pay, and other dealership-specific compensation.
- Review employee time cards and payroll data for accuracy.
- Maintain payroll records and employee files while ensuring confidentiality.
- Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Accounting regarding employee changes and payroll-related issues.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and assist with month-end and year-end reporting.
- Respond promptly to employee payroll questions and concerns.
- Assist with annual W-2 processing and payroll audits.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll administration experience, preferably in an automotive dealership environment.
- Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar) preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and tax reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience processing commission-based and technician payroll.
- Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple departments.
