Position Overview
As the Automotive Finance and Insurance (F&I) Manager, you will play a critical role in securing a seamless, transparent vehicle purchasing experience for our guests. Operating in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment, you will be responsible for managing the entire vehicle finance and insurance process, structuring profitable deals, capitalizing on backend revenue opportunities, and delivering exceptional guest-facing service that aligns with our core values.
The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of automotive compliance, and a proven track record of driving excellent Profit Per Vehicle Retailed (PVR).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive PVR Performance: Take full accountability for department profit-per-vehicle goals and the achievement of dealership F&I revenue targets.
- In-the-Moment Coaching: Maintain an active presence during F&I deliveries. Observe, mentor, and coach sales consultants on process compliance and product presentation.
- Lead by Example: "Walk the talk" by personally executing successful F&I deliveries when necessary to demonstrate top-tier sales techniques.
- Collaborative Leadership: Partner closely with Sales Managers, Team Leaders, and fellow F&I managers during retail hours to optimize overall floor traffic and closing ratios.
- Strategic Alignment: Actively participate in monthly F&I team leadership huddles and performance reviews to continuously refine dealership processes.
- 100% Compliance: Maintain absolute adherence to company policies, including 100% compliance with F&I video recording standards.
- Regulatory Expertise: Maintain a thorough, up-to-date knowledge of state regulations regarding vehicle finance, contract compliance, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
- Deal Structuring: Review and optimize the structure of automotive deals in accordance with lender programs and dealership guidelines.
- Save "Dead" Deals: Review declined credit applications and collaborate proactively with the Sales Department to find creative financing solutions.
- Lender Relations: Maintain and update a comprehensive lender guide, fostering strong working relationships with prime, sub-prime, and captive lenders.
Key Performance Measurements
- Your success in this high-volume role will be evaluated across four key metrics:
- Product Sales & Profit: Consistently meeting or exceeding PVR and product penetration targets.
- Contracts-in-Transit (CIT): Ensuring clean funding packages are submitted promptly to minimize CIT turn-time.
- Compliance: Achieving perfect compliance scores regarding State and Federal financial regulations.
- Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI): Maintaining excellent guest feedback ratings regarding the transparency and speed of the finance process.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- Proven F&I Experience: Prior experience as an Automotive F&I Manager or Finance Manager in a high-volume dealership setting is strongly preferred.
