Position Summary
The Associate Staff Accountant for Financial Reporting role is responsible for applying accounting policies and controls to financial transactions and preparing financial and other reports for AMIkids affiliates and AMIkids, Inc. The role ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
Essential Job Duties
- Code and record all bank deposits to general ledger; keep accurate daily cash ledger; and prepare bank reconciliations,
- Prepare and process intercompany billings from AMIkids, Inc. to AMIkids affiliates,
- Record and track restricted or designated donations expenditures,
- Prepare, process, and record entries and reconcile general accounts for prepaid insurance, fixed assets (including capital lease analysis), intercompany and third party notes payable, and other transactions as assigned,
- Assist with reconciliation of fundraising reported by Resource Development with general ledger,
- Provide support to internal and external auditors,
- File documentation received in accordance with accounting policies & procedures,
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned,
- Travel as needed to carry out job duties.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
- Associates degree in accounting or related field, Bachelor’s preferred,
- One (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience,
- Understanding of basic accounting theory on debits/credits,
- Proficiency with accounting software, network system, and Microsoft Windows work groups, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.),
- Possess and maintain valid driver’s license in the state of employment and have a driving record that meets the standards of the AMIkids Transportation Policy
