Associate Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports To: VP of Corporate Finance
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary
Associate Accountant is responsible for a variety of day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing transactions, managing and processing Accounts Payable, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, filing and processing tax payables, Accounts Payable Accruals, manage data and training to new users for Concur, create and update expense reports, wisely cards, processing HCP advances and housing.
Functional Accountability
- AP (vendors, payroll checks, ACH, HCP advances and housing, etcetera)
- CLP for payments
- AR adjustments – Kristie leading.
- Compliance
- Reporting: AP accruals, IHS.
- General Ledger (wires journal entries – Intercompany), HCP manual payments, manual payroll and other checks.
- Reconciliations (Bill.com, clearing accounts, payroll liabilities– not related to AP), Kristie leading.
- Taxes -filing and payments
- Concur’s user management.
Essential Job Functions
- Accounts Payable billing procedures
- Suggest and help to implement continuous improvement AP processes
- Answer internal and external inquiries related to AP
- Initiate weekly payments/ reports
- Work in a team environment coordinating work requirements and schedules with other team members
- Initiating ACH and wire transfers as needed
- Reporting
- Maintain AP files and reports so they remain updated and easily accessible.
- Follow all procedures and protocol.
- Collaborate in the External Audit Process
- Stop payments if needed
- Journal entries

- Any tasks which the VP of Corporate Finance deem necessary to further the interests of the department or company

Education and Experience
- General Accounting, excellent communications skills, attention to detail, word processing, spreadsheet abilities, accounts payable and knowledge of Accounting Software programs are required, excellent analytical skills.

- Stable, nonpublic internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in video meetings and other regular activities, with an alternative location considered as a backup.
- Camara on during meetings.
- Working environment conducive to conducting business without distraction or interference
- Noise level in the work environment that is quiet to moderate
- A designated workspace which allows the Team Member to focus, preferably with a desk or worktable, comfortable chair, and good lighting.
