06/19/2026 Summary: This position plays a key role in the daily operations of the Financial Services Department, with strong emphasis on assisting with managing the business, financial and administrative functions within the department. Oversees and assists to ensure a service-oriented relationship with all district departments and the smooth and efficient operation of the district business office.
Essential Responsibilities
Assists the Chief Financial Officer in developing, planning, and forecasting future budget goals and objectives, and he overall day-to-day operations of the Business office, including but not limited to; Payroll, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable.
Ensures compliance and consistency with District, State and Federal rules, regulations, and policies.
Assists with evaluating district and state expenditures and revenue formulas and analyzing the impact on the overall district budget.
Organizes, coordinates, participates, and implements special projects related to budget, finance, accounting, and management information systems.
Utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills to professionally respond to financial questions and resolves accounting problems.
Develop and implement comprehensive training for various staff in matters related to District financial operations, procedures and policies.
Prepares general ledger adjustments and assists in closing annual financials and preparing reports for current fiscal year activities.
Participates in state and federal audits as needed. Compiles and prepares financial data for auditors.
Reconciles, interprets, and reviews a variety of monetary transactions including deposits, revenues, and expenditures. Reconciles cash balances for all Funds with County offices monthly.
Effectively communicates with District staff, County School Superintendent's Office, or County Treasurer on financial transactions.
Inputs budget including assisting with Grand Funding adjustments as needed.
Assists with the monthly reconciliation of all district bank accounts.
Maintains proper audit processes and checks & balances.
Collaborates, communicates, and meets with administrators and Human Resources to discuss position control and budgetary effects.
In conjunction with Human Resources maintains position control, verifies availability of funds and assigns account codes.
Oversees the accounting and management of Tax Credit Donations between the donor and school site as well as budgeted revenues for Tax Credit Donations.
Manage and assists with the accounting and management of Student Activities and Auxiliary Operations.
Inputs journal entry adjustments for transfer of revenues.
Proactively pursues on going professional growth and knowledge regarding learning to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Assist the Chief Financial Officer and Superintendent in making recommendations regarding salaries and benefits for all school district employees.
Assists in the administration of the accounts payable, warehouse and payroll functions.
Represents the school district as necessary in off-site meetings, associations, etc.

Education and/or Experience
- Background in Accounting preferred, with three years of experience in school finance.
- Demonstrated computer literacy required; Word processing and Excel required.
- Ability to provide maximum customer service to the public.
- Communicate and work well with staff.

Working Environment" The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Terms of Employment
- Salary based on the approved Assistant Director of Finance schedule as established by the Governing Board
- 12 month position, FLSA Exempt
- Benefits as assigned for the position.
