Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced accounting professional to support the Financial Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate brings at least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Support the Financial Controller in managing day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll coordination
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across all systems
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis and insights to leadership
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
- Support implementation or optimization of ERP/accounting systems
- Drive best practices in financial reporting and data management
Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with departments such as operations, HR, and procurement on financial matters
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions and cost management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
