Role Overview This role supports the Controller in overseeing the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The Assistant Controller is a key contributor to month-end close, budgeting, audits, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations (general ledger, AP/AR)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and lender compliance reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and fixed asset entries
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Develop and maintain internal controls
- File annual property tax
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- High attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
- 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting or corporate accounting background preferred
