AP/Accounting Specialist

Responsible for the processing of invoices and payments for the District.  Performs various accounting duties.  Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Performs moderately complex accounting assignments in accordance with standard procedures.  Handles reconciliations, deposits, and ensures correct coding of expenses.   Analyzes and solves problems independently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Required Experience:

A minimum of six (6) months’ experience in clerical accounting.

Knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

Sales tax and 1099 knowledge and experience; understanding of GL structures; GAAP.

Compensation/How We Care For You:

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
