This job posting is for an existing vacancy. We’re looking for our next Tax Reporting Analyst. Could It Be You?As part of the Tax Operations team, the Tax Reporting Analyst role ensures Questrade remains compliant with CRA, MRQ, and IRS regulations. You’ll handle the end-to-end lifecycle of tax reporting: from verifying client residency documentation and classifying securities, to the final issuance of tax slips and electronic filings. Need more details? Keep reading… In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Performing periodic tasks as needed to comply with Canadian and US tax reporting regulations

Reviewing documentation on client accounts and determine appropriate tax residency

Preparing/ coordinating payment requests for withholding tax remittance to regulators

Reconciliations of income and withholding tax

Responding to internal and external tax related queries

Participating in the preparation of client and regulatory tax reporting

Generating one or more of the following tax slips: T5, T3, T5013, NR4, T5008, T1135, 1099, 1042S, Realized Gain/Loss report, and/or K-1

Preparing  XML filings

Ensuring FATCA/CRS Reporting is completed with the CRA before deadlines

Reviewing & entering provided tax factors for securities in the tax system

Reviewing & entering provided client &/or securities  transactions in the tax system

Updating and reconcile year-end tax records

Reviewing securities to determine most appropriate type to ensure income is reported on the correct tax slip

Reviewing corporate actions to determine US &/or Canadian tax applicability

Tracking work completed & any errors found

Identifying and bringing  process improvement opportunities to the table

Collaborating with other team members, or other departments on mini projects

Other ad hoc duties, and projects, as assigned

So are YOU our next Tax Reporting Analyst? You are if you…

Have a Post-secondary education, preferably in Finance, Economics, or related field

Have prior work experience in a Tax Reporting role, focusing on Canadian &/or US tax reporting to clients would be preferred

Have prior work experience (2 years+) in an operational, continuous improvement or client service role, preferably within a financial services organization is an asset

Have demonstrated success in deploying effective and personalized marketing communications

Have Experience in client &/or securities taxation is strongly preferred

Knowledge of the securities industry is an asset

Experience with Broadridge systems would be a nice to have

Additional kudos if you…

Have intermediate/ Advanced knowledge of excel or google sheets is strongly preferred

Have experience with Qualified Intermediary obligations is an asset

Having knowledge of the securities industry is an asset

Having experience with Broadridge systems would be a nice to have

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Are detail oriented, a self motivated individual with the ability to work independently with little supervision

Have a strong analytical skills to manage large data

Have excellent organizational skills

Have strong work ethic, result focused, and deadline driven

Have strong research & problem solving skills

Have strong continuous improvement mindset, and a desire to bring improvements to the table

Are a  collaborative team player, flexible, and with a strong customer service mindset

Compensation Information:

Base salary range: $60,000 - $65,000

The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
