HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Americas Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for coordinating the regional implementation of the company's global trade program while ensuring compliance with regional customs, sanctions, and export control regulations.
This is a remote position for a global company based in Auburn Hills, MI.

EXPECTATIONS

· Serve as regional single point of contact for trade compliance authorities and country management
· Establish and maintain trade compliance standards and procedures
· Set sanctioned party and embargo screening conditions and manage RPS blocks in SAP GTS
· Ensure proper assignment of HS/ECCN classification, country of origin and valuation
· Oversee trade compliance information maintenance in SAP GTS, ACE, and other trade tools
· Develop internal audit strategy to monitor and minimize trade compliance risks
· Manage tariff tracking and mitigation opportunities
· Oversee trade facilitation programs and manage authorizations, permits, and records retention
· Communicate key regulatory changes and implement a trade compliance training program

ESSENTIALS

· 10 + years of experience in trade compliance
· Bachelor’s degree required
· In depth knowledge of import compliance, CBP and other government agencies
· Working knowledge of export control and sanctions regulations
· Experience working with multinational manufacturing and distributions operations
· Ability to train and advise local trade compliance officers and management
· Communicate effectively across all levels of internal and external partners
· Self-starter, motivated individual contributor with a change management mind-set
· Experience with SAP GTS a plus
