The AI & Data Risk Analyst position is a crucial role on the Model, AI & Data Risk Management team, which is an innovative and evolving unit at Guardian. As such, this person will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategy and execution of this critical team.
The Model, AI & Data Risk Management team oversees the mitigation and governance practices of said spaces across the enterprise and operates as a strategic partner to the various business areas. Artificial intelligence and data have been identified as “top risks” of the company and therefore command specific attention. Effective collaboration and engagement amongst the internal “second line of defense” team as well as with the “first line” business teams are essential towards achieving success in this role.
You will
Oversee AI governance practices, which include but are not limited to:
Directing users through the AI intake process,
Engaging in meetings with the relevant stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are appropriately risk-rated and sufficient controls and mitigants are in place,
Ensuring proper monitoring and attestation are being performed in accordance with policies and standards,
Maintaining accurate inventories, dashboards, and metadata to facilitate risk management of AI solutions in production and those being developed,
Recording and organizing all findings and/or issues that may arise in the appropriate registers.
Seek opportunities to continually improve the AI governance framework with a balance of enabling the acceleration of technological solutions with a commensurate degree of rigor and prudence.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure the AI and Data intake and governance processes are transparent and well-understood.
Participate in the entire AI model lifecycle including the design, development, and production states.
Address any potential future misstatements or inaccuracies through facilitating optimal model and process design and implementation of preventative and detective controls.
Contribute to the continued growth and development of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics risk management through independent validation activities within both the Model & Data Risk Management frameworks.
Lead presentations related to AI emerging model risks, thematic observations across the enterprise, and other relevant topics.
Support Model, AI, and Data risk functions through the maintenance, management, and development of the Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance System (in ServiceNow).

You have
5+ years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry, preferably with experience in AI and risk management.
Strong technical skills with a variety of software platforms, specifically, in ServiceNow.
Proven leadership and communication skills.
The ability to accelerate impact and the desire to lead change.
Reporting Relationship
You will report to the Head of Model, AI & Data Risk, who reports to the Chief Risk Officer.
Location
Hybrid role - 3 days in office in the Hudson Yards, NYC or Bethlehem, PA office; 2 days WFH
Salary Range:
$103,450.00 - $169,960.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
