Cincinnati Public Schools invites applications for the position of Accounts Receivable Supervisor. This position within the Treasurer’s Office reports to the Assistant Treasurer/Controller and is responsible for management of the accounts receivable and cash collection functions and activities as well as supervision of the accounts receivable staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is desirable or three to five years of demonstrated experience with general ledger, accounts receivable and cash management. Prefer experience with staff supervision.
The successful candidate shall have the training, skills and ability necessary to:
- Supervise accounts receivable and cash management staff
- Provide input for high-level decision making, communication to staff and key personnel, and coordination of interdepartmental tasks
- Maintain, review, and update as necessary, documented processes and standard operating procedures, including process workflow maps
- Train direct reports and other district personnel on board policies and administrative procedures related to the accounts receivable and cash management functions
- Coordinate year end accounts receivable activities and maintain year end project schedule
- Prepare revenue and adjusting journal entries as well as provide reviews and postings as necessary
- Manage process for all revenues and money received by the district through various modes of collection, including, but not limited to, cash, checks, credit cards, and electronic funds transfers
- Manage and perform daily reconciliation of receipts as well as resolve monthly revenue reconciliation issues
- Manage invoicing and account statements processing for schools and departments
- Monitor aging of accounts receivable accounts and escalate issues appropriately
- Manage and perform month end accounts receivable tasks
- Manage processing of supplemental educational services receipts
- Manage invoicing for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) contracts
- Receive and reconcile TIF and Enterprise Zone payments
- Oversight of petty cash and change drawer accounts
- Provide back-up for monthly and annual general ledger opening and closing processes
- Expand and monitor the use of the online payment system and provide timely reporting
- Expand and monitor the collections system and provide timely reporting
- Assist and provide receipt confirmation for customers paying bills in person
- Attend Board, Committee and Community meetings when necessary, including Tax Incentive Review meetings
- Work on various special project committees
- Other duties as assigned
Type of Contract: 260 day limited
Salary: Associate 1 per CAAS Agreement
