Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Gaithersburg, MD 20879
Pay: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shift (on-site)
About the Role
Valor Fleet Services is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, hardworking, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to the workplace. This role requires strong computer skills and hands-on experience with QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Post Virtual Credit Card (VCC) payments in QuickBooks
- Deposit and apply live customer checks
- Prepare and send monthly customer statements
- Process customer credit card refunds and payment adjustments, including accurate posting in QuickBooks
- Manage and resolve credit card chargebacks
- Process and post ACH payments to QuickBooks
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable process, including collections on past-due invoices
- Prepare credit account applications and manage tax-exempt documentation (e.g., Form ST-10)
- Respond to customer requests (W-9s, Certificates of Insurance, address changes, account discrepancies, etc.)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- QuickBooks experience (required)
- Some accounting experience (required)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Microsoft Excel experience (preferred)
- 1–2 years of accounting or accounts receivable experience (preferred)
Work Environment
- Office setting
- On-site position (must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Gaithersburg, MD prior to starting)
