Job Description
Our client, a respected organization in Halifax, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team for an anticipated 6 - 8 week contract opportunity, with the potential for extension beyond the initial term.Working in a professional and structured academic environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing support related to student accounts.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Manage day-to-day accounts receivable functions, including processing payments and maintaining accurate account records
- Review and reconcile student account balances and transactions
- Respond to student inquiries and provide support regarding account information and payments
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure records are up to date
- Other related duties and projects as assigned
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or a related role
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities independently
- Professional communication skills with the ability to provide support to students and internal stakeholders
- Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems
- Ability to work effectively in an in-office environment
