Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Representative to join our Billing &Accounts Receivable team, reporting to the Billing & Accounts Receivable Supervisor. This role is on the front line of collections — working assigned customer accounts by phone and email, fielding and resolving billing-related cases in Zendesk and Salesforce, and partnering closely with Billing and Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to keep accounts current and within SLA. You'll also support ad hoc projects that help the broader team improve accuracy and efficiency.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, making outbound collection calls and sending emails to follow up on past-due balances and resolve outstanding invoices.

• Document all collection activity, customer communication, and account notes accurately and consistently to support reporting and escalation.

• Field and resolve inbound collections cases through Zendesk and Salesforce, responding within established SLAs.

• Partner with the Billing team to research and resolve invoice discrepancies, disputes, and payment application issues.

• Work closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to align on account status, coordinate customer outreach, and resolve escalations affecting the customer relationship.

• Monitor assigned accounts against SLA and aging targets, flagging at-risk accounts to the Supervisor before they become escalations.

• Reconcile customer accounts and apply payments, credits, and adjustments as needed.

• Assist in identifying trends in past-due accounts or recurring disputes and share findings to support process improvement.

• Support ad hoc projects and initiatives assigned by the Billing & Accounts Receivable Supervisor, including reporting, audits, and process documentation.

• Maintain working knowledge of customer contracts and billing arrangements relevant to assigned accounts to support accurate, informed collection conversations.

Your Qualifications•

2 to 3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, billing, or a related customer-facing finance role.

• Comfortable making outbound collection calls and managing a high volume of customer email correspondence.

• Experience working cases in Zendesk and/or Salesforce, or similar case management/CRM tools, is a plus.

• Familiarity with billing procedures and collection techniques; awareness of debt collection regulations (e.g., FDCPA) is a plus.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously.

• Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate difficult customer conversations.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Billing, CSMs, and other cross-functional partners.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other reporting/spreadsheet tools.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, BillingPlatform, Salesforce, YayPay, and/or Zendesk is a plus.
