Full Time / Permanent Opportunity

Pennsylvania Steel, a full line Steel Service Center, with 11 locations, now in its 50th year, is seeking a Full Time AP/AR Specialist to work in our Hauppauge, NY location.   

Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities:

• Daily deposits

• Post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable

• Provide professional, prompt and courteous service to customers in resolving individual problems

• Computing and processing credit card charges and refunds

• Identifying delinquent accounts and short payments

• Contact delinquent accounts to request payment

• Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, reviewing files, payments or adjustments

• Process customer account applications

• Process Vendor invoices for payment

• Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry

• Assist with annual audit requests

• Filing and general office tasks

• Mail sorting

• Take on additional duties as experience grows

 Job Type:

• Full-Time Position (Monday-Friday)

• Remote work not available

Experience and Skills:

• Hands-on experience with MS Word, Outlook

• Microsoft Excel experience required

• Must be reliable and able to preserve sensitive, confidential information

• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others
