Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations by accurately processing customer payments, recording payments, payment reconciling as well as processing customer refunds and credits. This position ensures timely and accurate maintenance of accounts receivable records, resolves billing discrepancies, and collaborates with internal departments to promote efficient cash flow and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.

• Prepare bank deposits.

• Reconcile the accounts receivable against customer's account to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

• Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.

• Review and process refund requests.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reporting.

Responsible for additional duties and accountabilities that will be assigned as needed.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable principles, billing processes, and payment application procedures.

• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

• Ability to analyze account information and identify discrepancies or payment issues.

• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (JDE or other full-scale ER software)

• Proficiency in English and in MS Office

• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

• Problem solving skills

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred (not required)

· Associate degree preferred

· 2+ years of experience in Accounting (preferred)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with 2+ years of experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Ability to lift 15 pounds
